  • 5 apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter (cubed)
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch dish and refrigerate.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, spices, salt, and vanilla until coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix oat topping ingredients except for butter; add cubed butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared crust and top with oat mixture. Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown.
