  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 tsp loose leaf Earl Grey tea)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 45 fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 12 tsp vanilla syrup (to taste)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • Ice (for iced version)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer cherries with 2 tablespoons of water for about 3-5 minutes until soft. Mash gently to release juices.
  2. Meanwhile, boil 1 cup of water and steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes, then remove the bag or strain loose leaves.
  3. Pour warm milk into the saucepan with cherries and heat gently while stirring. Add cinnamon if desired.
  4. Stir in vanilla syrup to sweeten as preferred.
  5. Combine brewed tea and strained cherry-milk mixture in a mug, pressing on cherries to extract juice.
  6. For iced tea, allow the mixture to cool before pouring over ice.
  7. Garnish with a fresh cherry or sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
