  • black decorating frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Gradually add sugar while increasing speed to high, mixing until bright white with semi-stiff peaks.
  4. Pipe mounds on the baking sheet for meringue ghosts and bake for 2 hours. Leave in the oven for an additional 30 minutes to dry.
  5. For buttercream, mix softened butter, confectioners' sugar, and milk until smooth; tint with purple gel coloring.
  6. Frost cupcakes generously with purple buttercream after cooling.
  7. Decorate meringue ghosts with black frosting for eyes and mouths, then place on each cupcake.
