Description

  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup salted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter (not natural)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 44 Whoppers (for decoration)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 ounces)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter until creamy; then add granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg, peanut butter, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Roll dough into one-inch balls and coat in granulated sugar before placing on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 8 minutes or until lightly golden around edges.
  8. Press a Whopper into each cookie while warm; drizzle melted chocolate around cookies for spider legs.
  9. Add eyes using white cake decorating gel once chocolate sets.
